Newly finished. Polymer clay necklace using a texture roller. The beads are handmade lamp work and Czech beads. I painted Paynes Grey and then used a bronze metallic paint to embellish and brass spacers/clasp.
This is going to be my Christmas card for this year and then I will probably mat and frame. Some abstract art I like and some I don't. Some of the pieces I pour just "aren't" so I lay them aside to use in some other form of art, the others I mat, and if they are really neat like this one I may mat and frame. The first thing that I saw when I finished the pour dip was The Three Wise Men.... There are times that I reserve back ones that I like....they say art finds its home..
Stencils are so fragile....and with many techniques they "take a beating". I am pretty religious in cleaning them but sometimes.....I forget, too tired, etc. I use a lot of modeling paste for dimension and when it hardens it is like a rock.... I LOVE Awesome from Dollar Tree, a nail surgical brush which is sooooo soft and I let the Awesome set on it for a bit then I scrub gently; both sides. Sometimes I need to do it more than just one time but it has never let me down. I SELL THE BRUSHES IN MY ETSY SHOPPE.
Beginning a new stencil project for a Christmas gift if it turns out. In the first picture I used: Canvas Panel Mars Black Paint Stencil Brush I swirled my brush with the paint so that I got a little bit of texture here and there. I also noticed that when the light hits it you can see the swirl pattern.. Since my stencil is a circular design I thought I would try base coating in this manner. I am going to be using several different paints. The shift paints in several different colors, silver paint, and a medium green color. I also have a Green Iridescent that I might incorporate. The recipient is color blind but green is green for him...so I want to use several shades of green in the piece. What he will see will be different from what I see...... Should be interesting. I am not sure how it will end up. Just know as the steps complete. The Stencil is by Stencil Girl and is a Mod Abstract Design. Stay tuned to see the progress.
